Hearing Cats Collective is pleased to present Electronium Designs, a new video series documenting the synthesizer designs of Mike Murphy.
Mike Murphy has been constructing highly original, technically sophisticated sound synthesizers for over 30 years. He is a regular practitioner of improvised music, using his designs in solo and group performances. Although live audiences are often treated to a distant glimpse of these synthesizer constructions, the devices largely exist without being seen or heard by the general public. This video series is intended as a comprehensive survey of Murphy’s instruments.
The first video will cover the Viaggio Di Marconi, a highly unique synthesizer, incorporating a radio receiver, theremin, and classic analogue voltage controlled circuits.
Each video presentation will feature Murphy discussing a different instrument of his design. We will be releasing videos throughout the year.
